How to purchase
Visit the public exhibition
Auctions are public: access to the auction room is free of charge.
We advise you to make an appointment if you wish to visit the auction beforehand, so that our team can welcome you in the best possible conditions.
You can make an appointment by e-mail or using the slots available on our home page.
Physical bids
Pre-registration is required.
You can register on the home page of our website, or in person with a member of our team.
To validate your participation, you will be asked to provide the following information:
- Full name
- Full postal address
- E-mail and telephone
- Copy of your valid national identity card or passport
For validation purposes, you will be allocated a paddle number, which you will be given when you arrive.
Phone Bids & purchase orders
If you are unable to attend the auction in person, you may delegate us to bid on your behalf up to a certain amount, or ask us to reserve a telephone line for the lots you wish to bid on so that you can transmit your bids directly to the auctioneer.
Your order(s) can be placed via your account on our website or via the paper bid form at the end of each sale catalogue.
Your request will only be considered once Lux-Auction send you a written reply.
Regarding telephone line requests, Lux-auction cannot be held responsible for any errors, failure due to a technical fault, or no response when the call is attempted.
You have to make sure that you can be reached by telephone during the sale.
Live bids
Live bids
If you are unable to attend the auction in person, you can also bid live via the Live platform on our website.
You must register on the home page of our website. To validate your participation, you will be expressly asked to provide the following information:
- Full name
- Full postal address
- E-mail and telephone
- Copy of your valid national identity card or passport
In addition, the possibility will be given to bid through external Live platforms (Drouot, Unvaluable, Interenchères...) only after validation by our services. A live sales fee of 3% inc VAT will be charged for any bid won via these platforms.
Online sales
Some sales are exclusively organized on the Internet. They are accessible via our website and the site www.drouotonline.com.
Auction fees and payments
The hammer price, also called the “hammer price”, is increased by buyer’s fees: 25% including tax.
An additional fee of 3% inc. VAT will be charged for bids won via external live platforms (Drouot, Unvaluable, Intérenchères, etc.).
Purchases can be paid for by bank transfer, cash within the legal limits, or by credit card on site only.
As the terms of payment may vary from auction to auction, please consult the specific terms and conditions of each auction.
When to collect your purchase?
Any goods can be collected before full payment of the amounts due.
You can collect your purchased item(s) by making an appointment by email or using the slots available on our website.
Auctioned goods will be stored in our gallery. No storage costs until two months after the date of the sale, then storage costs may be charged at the rate of €10 including tax each lot per day. These costs must be paid before collection of the goods and upon presentation of the paid slip.
