Jörg Döring, born in Germany in 1965, gained recognition in the 1990s with large-format works that plunge us into his urban universe bathed in pop culture. With a passion for the United States, he draws inspiration from the great names of the pop art movement, such as Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol, as well as cartoon heroes like Donald and Mickey Mouse. Familiar themes include the heroes of our imagination and the great icons of American and European cinema, such as Brigitte Bardot, Romy Schneider, Ursula Andress, Marilyn Monroe, Sean Connery and Clint Eastwood. Acrylic paintings, collages, silkscreens, illustrations and graffiti are just some of the techniques he uses.
