François Schortgen, born on October 11, 1935 in Esch-sur-Alzette, began painting at the age of 13. In 1954, he moved to Alaska and then to the Canadian Far North, which greatly influenced his artistic signature. A great lover of travel, he never ceased to be inspired by the landscapes observed in Greenland, Japan, China, Korea... He has exhibited extensively, both in Luxembourg and abroad, earning him international recognition.
