Mett Hoffmann studied at the school of the craftsmen of Luxembourg, after having followed the teachings of the fine arts and decorative arts of Strasbourg then of vienne and Düsseldorf, he settles in a career of independent artist. Involved artist, he will be a member of several artistic communities such as the Grand Ducal Institute, the Iconic Luxembourg and will become a member of the national committee of the plastic arts of Unesco.
Much more than a painter, Mett Hoffman was a visual artist who tried his hand at working with glass with great success as he was commissioned to create decorative panels in cast glass for public buildings and stained glass windows such as at the castle of Wiltz or the Church of St-Michel in Luxembourg.
His talent will be distinguished with a silver medal at the 2nd biennial of Sâo Paolo in 1956.
Today, Mett Hoffmann's works are presented in the National Museum of History and Art in Luxembourg and in the museums of Trier and Sarreguemines.
