Chinese imperial vase in the Qianlong style (1736- 1795/96)
Made of fine porcelain of the famille rose, the body is decorated with twelve panels, six of which are painted in fencai (soft-colored enamels) depicting auspicious themes. A similar reign mark of the Qianlong emperor is located below the base. A similar example is in the collections of the Palace Museum in Beijing. The work, which requires great technical dexterity to make,
displays several genres from the history of Chinese ceramics.
Ancient work, condition of use and maintenance, slight crack reported under the base.
Private collection from Luxembourg.
