Exceptional Louis XVI clock by Jean-Baptiste Baillon (received master clockmaker in 1727)
In gilded and chased bronze decorated with musician fauns surrounding the enamelled circular dial with Roman numerals signed "Baillon Horloger du Roi". Surmounted by a cup with the allegory of the music. In the lower part, very nice frieze of angelos musicians.
Pair of candelabras, with loves surmounted by two arms of light representing roses.
Restoration of use and maintenance.

The clockmaker Jean-Baptiste Baillon was received "Valet de chambre-horloger ordinaire de la Reine" in 1727, "premier valet de chambre de la Reine" in 1748 and "Valet de chambre horloger de la dauphine Marie-Antoinette" in 1770. Established in the Place Dauphine in 1738, then in the Rue Dauphine after 1751, he also owned in Saint-Germain-en-Laye until 1765, the only private manufacture in France in the 18th century. He collaborated with the most prestigious bronze and cabinet makers of his time: Caffieri, Osmond, Saint Germain, Lieutaud...
