The South Korean artist Koo Seunghwui, based in New York (USA), uses her little piggies in her works, exploring the symbolism of the pig in Eastern and Western cultures. Indeed, in her native culture, the animal has a positive symbolism referring to prosperity and happiness; however, since she moved to the United States, she has noticed that it does not have the same values in our Western cultures. In her works, the artist questions this difference.
Some of her works contain up to 12,000 handmade pig sculptures that create a textured surface.
