"This work represents how the great nations are fighting for the imaginary future security of oil, a dramatically topical subject."
Jeanette Bremin works in oil and acrylic paint on a variety of materials, from embroidery on fabric and paper to folding works, and even inverted glass techniques. She needs her work to be sensory because that is what she believes provides emotion. She encourages us to touch the different fibers applied to a canvas or to alternate our point of view on a work to be captivated by the play of light and shadow.
In 1991, Jeanette Bremin moved to Luxembourg with her family. In 1996, a family tragedy occurred with the loss of her eldest daughter, which plunged the artist into a 7-year struggle with depression, burnout and declining health. Nevertheless, in this dark period, it is Art that will lead her to recovery and will give birth to her first solo exhibition LIFE dedicated to her daughter Desirée.
She founded and initiated Semaphore Art Studios 2008 in the former Oetrange Gare in Luxembourg where she also has her studio and works since then as an independent artist.
