Daniele Bragoni (born 1966)
Sculpture from the series Waves and Geometries, circa 2019
White marble, 1 element
Dimensions: H: 20; W: 30 cm
An Italian-born sculptor from Esch-sur- Alzette, Bragoni fell in love with marble while working for a long time in the Carrara quarries in Tuscany. After 25 years of researching sculpture and form, he developed his Ripples series from 2019, which seem to float like sheets of paper and yearn for a sense of calm. The simplicity and lightness here contrasts with the initial weight of the material. Co-founder in 1993 of the Luxembourg Sculpture Biennial, he was awarded the prestigious Japan Foundation Fellowship Program in 1997. He is also the author of several works in the public space such as the monumental sculpture in Erpeldange.
