Keith Haring was an incredibly famous American pop artist and social activist who responded to the street culture of the 1980s by expressing concepts of birth, death, sexuality and war. Haring's work was often highly political and his image became a widely recognized visual language in the 20th century. His close friends included Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Madonna, with whom he collaborated throughout his life.
