From 1959 to 1963, Yan Zoritchak trained at the Higher School of Applied Glass in Zelezny Brod and, from 1963 to 1969, at the Higher School of Applied Arts in Prague, under Stanislas Libensky. After taking part in Expo 67 in Montreal, he moved to France in 1970, where he worked as a designer at the Baccarat, Daum and Val Saint-Lambert crystal glassworks.
As a cold glassmaker, Yan Zoritchak builds his forms from solid blocks of crystal or glass, which he animates by sawing, polishing, matting and drilling.
He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Canada, the U.S.A. and throughout Europe.
Yan Zoritchak's work is held in numerous public collections in Australia (Perth), Belgium (Brussels, Charleroi, Liège), France (Chambéry, Paris, Sars-Poteries), Hungary (Budapest), Japan (Sapporo, Tokyo), Germany (Coburg, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt), Switzerland (Lausanne)...
