William Morris studied at California State University in Chico, California, and at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. In 1978, he joined the Pilchuck Glass School as a driver. He subsequently worked with Dale Chihuly, the school's founder, eventually becoming its principal in the 1980s. After 10 years' experience with Dale Chihuly, William Morris decided to set up his own studio and develop his own artistic style of glassblowing.
His art speaks of human origins, myths, ancestry and ancient civilizations. It symbolizes the harmony between humanity and nature.
His work can be found in numerous public collections, including:
