Susanne Böhm (1946 - 2000) began drawing at an early age, influenced by the work of her father (Heinz Böhm). After leaving the GDR, she became emancipated and found her own expressionist language of color and form. During her time in Regensburg, she painted interiors among other things, exploring space and rejecting clear demarcation lines as an aid to orientation. The surface and the lines of black and white surround the objects, setting them in motion. A self-taught artist, Susanne Böhm (1946 - 2000) studied architecture in Dresden and moved from Halle to Regensburg in 1982 to establish herself as an independent painter and make a fresh start. Her "moderately neo-expressionist" work mainly comprises landscape, interior, still life, house and portrait genres.
