Kazuki Nakahara was born in 1980 in Kagawa, Japan, and grew up in Tokyo. From 2005, Nakahara studied painting and drawing at the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee. In 2011, he received his master's degree from Hanns Schimansky. He has received several awards and scholarships. Since 2007, Nakahara has exhibited in galleries and art institutions in Germany and abroad. He lives and works in Berlin. "My drawing is about the gesture of drawing. To do this, I regularly repeat short strokes on the paper, like sewing or writing something. In the process of my drawing, there is also disorder, or liberation from regularity. These traces of different gestures make my flow of thoughts visible."
