Born in 1965 in Aachen, Ursula Boehmer studied visual communication and photography at the Hochschule Niederrhein Krefeld. In 1998, she began the "Kühe in Europa" (Cows in Europe) project, which was published in book form in 2012 by Kehrer Verlag under the title "All Ladies". For the "All Ladies - Kühe in Europa" series, the photographer travelled throughout Europe for 14 years, portraying ancient cattle breeds threatened with extinction. For Böhmer, the exchange of views between animal and human, and mutual perception, has always been at the forefront of her work. This demanded a sensitive and patient approach to animals. In her work, Böhmer uses exclusively analogue photographic techniques, making her own prints in the darkroom. Through her participation, she wishes not only to support respect for human rights, but also to draw attention to greater respect for animal rights. 2015 Exhibition at Cité de l'image, Clervaux/Luxembourg
