Gerhard Mevissen, born in 1956 in Heinsberg, studied theology in Bonn, before adding art therapy training and becoming a lecturer at the Fritz Perls Institute in Düsseldorf. Since 1979, he has devoted himself intensively to drawing and watercolor. In 2001, he was awarded the German Blind Aid Society's art prize for his "Blindgänge" project, and boasts an impressive list of exhibitions and publications.
