En 1967, Jean-Louis Dumas, gérant d’Hermès (1978-2006), demande à une créatrice de dessiner un sac pour la maison. La jeune femme, qui est alors enceinte, donne naturellement au sac le prénom de sa fille, Constance. Un sac de ville, avec une allure un peu sport, un sac pratique et décontracté, pour les filles à longues enjambées. Un sac intemporel, une élégance en mouvement, une constance qui se transmet de mères en filles.
